OVERVIEW
The Akatsuki no Tachi, called "Red Moon," is a special katana that shows the skill of traditional Japanese makers. The blade is made from high-quality Damascus steel, which has a beautiful stone-wash pattern. This pattern comes from the way the steel is folded and hammered. With a hardness rating of 60 HRC, it is very strong and can cut through iron without losing its sharpness. The blade can even bend at a 90-degree angle and still go back to its original shape.
The katana is 103 centimeters long, with a 71-centimeter blade and a 26-centimeter handle. The blade is 3.2 centimeters wide, and it weighs 1.38 kilograms, making it easy to handle. The handle has nice pure copper fittings, and the scabbard is made of solid wood with a shiny lacquer finish, which makes the sword look even better. The Akatsuki no Tachi shows the rich history and art of samurai weapons, and it is both a working sword and a collector's item.
