OVERVIEW
Mizunokami Ryu is a special katana that shows the skill and art of making traditional Japanese swords. It is made from T10 steel and is carefully shaped through 18 steps of hand polishing. This gives it a hardness of 60 HRC, so it can cut well and keep its sharp edge.
The katana is 103 cm long, with a 71 cm blade, a 26 cm handle, and a blade width of 3.2 cm. It weighs 1.4 kg.
The handle is wrapped in real pike skin, making it strong and nice to look at. The scabbard is made from blue skin wood and has beautiful Maki-e gold designs, with yellow cattle horn fittings.
This sword shows how well form and function can work together and highlights the important history and culture of the katana in Japan.
