OVERVIEW
The Shirayuki no Tachi, or '霜华', is a beautifully made katana that shows Japan's rich sword-making tradition. It is made from T10 steel and is polished by hand in 18 steps to create a shiny mirror finish. The blade is very strong, rated at 60 HRC, and can cut through iron without getting dull.
The katana is 103 cm long in total, with a 71 cm blade and a 26 cm handle. It weighs about 1.28 kg and has a blade width of 3.2 cm. The blade is made using special clay techniques to improve its look and use.
The handle is carefully wrapped by hand, showing the artisan's skill, and the iron tsuba adds strength to this amazing weapon. The Shirayuki no Tachi represents the art and skill of samurai craftsmanship.
