OVERVIEW
The Kawano Tachi no Hikari is a fine example of traditional Japanese sword-making. This samurai sword is made from strong manganese steel. It can bend 90 degrees and still keep its shape. The blade is treated with special blueing methods, making it look good and last longer. With a hardness rating of 60 HRC, the edge is sharpened by hand using a technique called "Tsumuji-giri," which makes it very sharp and able to cut through iron without breaking. The sword is 104 cm long in total, with a 71 cm blade and a 27 cm handle. The blade is 3.2 cm wide. The Kawano Tachi no Hikari shows the skill and care in Japanese sword-making, combining beauty and usefulness in its design.
