OVERVIEW

The 'Akai Tonbo', which means 'Red Dragonfly', is a special knife made with care in Japan. It is made from strong T10 steel and uses an old method called clay tempering. This makes the blade very hard and tough.

The knife is 55 cm long, with a blade that is 33 cm long, 3.2 cm wide, and 0.6 cm thick. Each knife goes through an 18-step hand-polishing process to give it a shiny mirror finish, showing the hard work of the maker.

The handle is wrapped in real pearl fish skin, which looks nice and feels good to hold. The knife comes in a beautiful lacquered scabbard with horn designs, showing the skill that went into making it.

Weighing about 0.88 kg, the 'Akai Tonbo' represents the tradition and skill of Japanese sword-making.
