OVERVIEW
The 'Ryu no Shokan', or '盘龙皆烧', is a carefully made tanto, showing the rich history of Japanese sword-making. The blade is made from T10 steel, which is very hard and scores 60° on the Rockwell scale, making it strong and long-lasting. Each blade goes through 18 steps of hand polishing and traditional methods, giving it unique patterns that cannot be copied.
The tanto is 55 cm long, with a blade that is 33 cm long and 3.2 cm wide, weighing about 0.74 kg. The handle is wrapped in real silk over pearl fish skin, making it both beautiful and easy to hold. The fittings are made from pure copper and have detailed gold and silver designs, showing the care put into making this piece.
