OVERVIEW
Kuko no Tachi is a beautifully made katana that shows the great skill of Japanese sword-making. Made from strong manganese steel, its blade is tough and keeps its shape even when bent. The blade goes through a careful blueing process that makes it look good and adds to its strength. It has a hand-finished flame pattern and is very hard, rated at 60 HRC, which means it can cut through iron without getting dull and slice bamboo very easily.
The katana is 103 cm long, with a 71 cm blade and a width of 3.2 cm, making it impressive in both looks and performance. The finely carved iron tsuba and the wooden tsuka, covered in lacquer, show the great skill and art of samurai weapons that have been valued for many years.
