Shin’ya no Tachi

The 'Shin'ya no Tachi', also called 紫刹, is a special tanto knife that shows the great history of Japanese sword-making. Made from T10 steel, this blade goes through a traditional clay-tempering process that makes it strong and sharp. It is 55 cm long in total, with a blade length of 33 cm. The blade is 3.2 cm wide and 0.7 cm thick, weighing about 0.72 kg. The careful work is clear in the 17-step hand-polishing method used on the blade, giving it high hardness and strength. The sword has an iron tsuba, showing the skill and art passed down through many generations. The 'Shin'ya no Tachi' is not just a weapon; it also represents the cultural importance and lasting beauty of the samurai tradition.
