Wakizashi

A Wakizashi is a traditional Japanese sword that is shorter than a Katana. It is usually about 20 to 30 inches long and was carried by samurai along with their Katana. The Wakizashi was used for close combat and sometimes for performing seppuku (a form of ritual suicide).
